I recently finished Mobland on Paramount+ and honestly, it slaps! (Is that what the kids are saying these days?). Anyway, it was fucking awesome. As a longtime fan of all things Tom Hardy, I knew I’d watch it from the start. He is an extremely competent (i.e. Lethal) fixer for a crime family and really, I love to see it. It might be the best I’ve seen him in some time. Red flags? Definitely. But was I in it to win it? Oh, for sure. Helen Mirren was absolutely diabolical. Pierce Brosnan was pathological. The only issue I had was Joanne Froggart, who played the wife of Tom Hardy’s character, had to continually act as though she was fed up with his nonsense. Don’t get me wrong, she sold it well. But, let’s be real, you’re married to Tom Hardy who straight up just murders people with his bare hands and you have to be mad about your circumstances? Yeah right. Maybe in real life such would be true, but certainly not in fiction! Anyway, it just got renewed for season 2. If you haven’t watched it yet, get on it ASAP.
